This is Stephanie Hakulin, NAD President, and I would like to share a few updates from the NAD Board.
First, I want to sincerely thank everyone who attended the NAD Conference this past summer. We truly appreciate your support, feedback, and positive encouragement. Your participation and input mean a great deal to us.
As many of you know, our new CEO, Nick Kiego began his position with the NAD only a few weeks ago, we continue to work through this transition, and we are thrilled to see that Nick has hit the ground running. We are also gearing up to move forward together and continue the important work of the NAD.
Be sure to watch Nick’s Vlog and hear directly from our amazing Junior Ambassadors! Their stories, experiences, and perspectives are truly inspiring.
Here are a few updates:
Zero Tolerance Polic
We continue to work on the Zero Tolerance Policy with experts while gathering valuable feedback and input. We appreciate everyone who has shared their thoughts and perspectives. Because this is important, we want to be sure we take the time to do this right. So we will continue to provide updates as this work progresses.
New Board Members
We are excited to fill the Board positions for Region I, II, and Affiliates. Please join us in congratulating Luisa Gasco-Soboleski, Christopher Samp, and Min Cho on their appointments! We look forward to working with the entire NAD Board and moving forward together.
Board Retreat
The Board and NAD Staff will have its Retreat coming up in October at the NAD Headquarters. We are looking forward to this opportunity to connect, collaborate, and plan for the future.
Deaf Awareness Week
September is here, and Deaf Awareness Week is coming up! We will be sharing several posts throughout the week to celebrate Deaf communities and raise awareness. We also look forward to seeing what our community partners and Affiliate Organizations and State Associations have to share during Deaf Awareness Week!
As we begin a new school year, I wish everyone the very best of luck. Have a wonderful and successful school year!
Thank you for your continued support of the NAD
