The WILLIAM B. SWETT AWARD is given to a statewide or local organization on a local or statewide basis that is actively and currently involved in a service towards the betterment of Deaf/hard of hearing people in their communities.
The WILLIAM B. SWETT AWARD is given to an organization that:
has participated extensively in efforts for Deaf/hard of people;
has demonstrated deep commitment to the believe that Deaf people can achieve at a level comparable to that achieved by other people;
has participated in, and given strong leadership to, activities that have resulted in better services and opportunities for Deaf people at local and state levels.
